TIP: QUICK-KEY TO FORCE QUIT AN APPLICATION
The Problem:
You’re hard at work and you start to see that pinwheel of death… The computer freezes and you’re stuck. You need to force quit the application but you can’t click on the application and force quit because everything is frozen. What do you do?
The Fix:
Not to worry! There is a quick key for that!
On a Mac:
Press CMD+Option+Esc to open the task manager and choose app to force quit. If that doesn’t work, hold down CMD+Shift+Option+Esc for 3 seconds to quit.
(It get’s even better! If you were working in Google Chrome and want to get the tabs you had open back up, press last week’s tip (Cmd+Shift+T) and all of your closed tabs will pop open!)
On a PC:
Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open task manager (or Ctrl+Shift+Esc to force quit).
